Automatic Curve Generation / How does this line animation work?

Dear community,

I am recently designing a modern shoe sole and found the following video.
In this video you can see the transition of letters to a line outsole design. I will have to present my project to my prof and this would be a highlight of my project if I get it to work as in the video.

(In my project the word should be “Anatomic”)

Does anyone know how to do this type of animation and how I can bake the final result to my outsole surface?

Thank you for a response! You guys are awesome!

Hi,

This looks like Gray-Scott Diffusion Reaction with an initial state given by the letters.

I believe that’s done not with reaction diffusion, but with a growing curve like shown here

I got this algorithm from a user but unfortunately I was not able to get it working with my curves and my outline. If there is anybody who knows how I can insert my curves into the file please help me!
These are the outline and the letters that should expand:

Thank you so much!

Hi @Jürgen_Töpfner

The main difference in your file from the one in my animation above is that you need all the curves colliding with each other instead of contained within their own cells.
Here with your curves and some of the variables labelled
