AttachGHSData

I have a ship design model which I started from scratch, but when I first used AttachGHSData, there was a tugboat GHS model already there, when it should have been blank. Okay, so I deleted all of that and made a new GHS setup using AttachGHSData. A week or so goes by in which I make various design updates. I go back into AttachGHSData, and the damn tug is back, and everything I previously made is gone. Okay, so I rebuilt all the GHS data. Two weeks go by and I need to update the AttachGHSData model again. Guess what? The damn tug is back! What the heck is going on here???

Are you sure the new ship is not a tug in spirit? No, just kidding.

I can take a look at the model if you need. you can send it to tech@mcneel.com and address it to me.

I might try export selected of the model to get a new clean version that leaves the tug behind for good. I expect there are some older components pulled over from a previous tug model?

It was never, ever a tug model though! That’s part of what is so baffling.

Yeah, let me take a look and see what I can see with it.

Unfortunately, the model is not something I am at liberty to share outside our organization. I’ll let you know if any other clues appear.

When you are in AttachGHSdata command use the create stations button in each hull and shape to see if it corrects them.

I need to do a bit of research here to find out where old data could be hiding in the model that we could clear.

So to clear a model of old data:

  1. Open the model
  2. Run the Save As… command
  3. Change the name of the model
  4. Uncheck the Save Plugin Data checkbox.
  5. Then click OK.

The new model with have all legacy AttachGHSdata removed. There should not be a ghost Tug haunting the model anymore.
