Asymmetric connections

Hi

I would like to create connections based on the midpoint offset of the segments of these shapes, however, I would like the connections to be asymmetric, in that one side has 1 circle and the connecting side has 2 circles. It doesn’t really matter how they are split up as long each connection side has a 1 and a 2 point connection.

But the midpoints of each side of the polygons don’t line up because:

  1. they are different sizes and
  2. they don’t all have the same number of sides

Just one question if possible, I think for my purposes it would be better if it was connected to the 3D shape, as it will be more accurate. I tried to apply the 3D shape to your definition, it but it seems to stop working at the Meet the baselines stage, is there a way to get the same effect on the 3D shape by some small alteration?
