Hello, I am trying to copy and align the closed surfaces down that diagonal crv so that it essentially builds the wall of a basket along that tapered line. I’ve tried a few options using array and orient but not achieving good results. I may be missing some steps to get the result I’m seeking.
Seems like a Grasshopper task. You need to copy the weave curve downwards multiple times, while scaling and rotating it - but keeping the “wicker” or “rattan” profile curve diameter the same.
Doing the above manually isn’t too time consuming. But with Grasshopper, you can modify the overall diameter, the basket’s taper, etc. interactively (not a Grasshopper user, but surely someone will chip in).
You’ll also need to generate the tuck-ins (rod ends), as real willow, etc, cannot be “welded” end-to end as shown here (couldn’t be bothered to model that feature).
Thanks for the guidance Lagom, I’ll use your logic to try and build a simple workflow in gh.
