2 straight lines have tangent snap to a circle doesn't split the circle

Hello, I don’t understand why 2 straight line have tangent snap to circle doesn’t split the circle. I found that one of the line didn’t touch the circle. Should a tangency between 2 curves touches each others?

It looks like a bug to me.

Use the Intersect command to check that two objects actually intersect. In this example only one line intersects the circle.

I made a line using the Tangent Osnap and that line did not interset the circle; same as in the example.

I made a line using Line with Tangent option starting from the curve. The resulting line intersects the circle.

This looks liike a bug with the Tangent Osnap to me.

Thanks for reply. And yes I was suddenly blinded lol

I see this too, it may have to do with the fact that one of the lines ends at the curve seam of the circle; rotate the circle to get the seam out of the way and the split works. I have created a YouTrack item for this https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-83591/

The objects are really small. Changing the file tolerance from 0.001 to 0.0001 might be all you need to do…
