I would need a test file to find the cause
Looking at the code It could be some input curves are not closed or planar.
Apparently the script was made for input that was all closed and planar

I’m taking a rectangle and duplicating it, it’s completely a closed line

Can you make a small file with only a few curves that cause the error?
Also: If the input is a closed rectangle, it could be that the prefix contains characters that cause the error.
What prefix do you use?
Can you test with a simple prefix eg just an ‘A’
