Hi,
When creating a VA style (or a hatch in grasshopper), the selected pattern can be scaled and rotated, but not moved (translated). IMHO this would be a helpful option to make sure the pattern fits perfectly.

You are right that it would be helpful in some cases like the one you mention, and specially when projection patterns will be available.
