Viewport transparency in v 2.11.0

I have noticed that in version 2.11.0 applying

viewport.clearAlpha = 0;

no longer works. Also setting “Background alpha” to 0 in viewer itself also has no effect on transparency. Works in version 2.9.11. Can someone confirm this issue? Thanks.
