I cant get my Model to be properly uploaded. I think I had a similar problem before and it was related to backend system settings set to a different Rhino model. I tried to change it at the upload. but it wont allow me to upload unless set to rhino8. weird enough all other models are uploaded with setting set to rhino6 even though I did not use Rhino6 to create them. I think it was Rhino 7 back then.
Anyway when I upload my model with Rhino 8 like suggested it is not loading in CMS of my Page.
Any leads on how to proceed here?
Which type of ShapeDiver account do you have? If you have a legacy PRO account, Rhino 8 is not included in your subscription. You can contact our sales team to upgrade and get access to it.
If you have any other type of account, you can switch to a Rhino 8 system in your backend settings.
Thank you for your quick response. I have a designer plus. and as I said I did change to rhino8 in Backend, problem is that the model is not appearing on my website or cms.
I checked with a rhino6 version of the definition. and it has the same issue so it must be something else. maybe I explained it wrong.
So when I use the embedding code in CMS nothing is loading.
Do I understand correctly that you successfully uploaded a model to the Rhino 8 server?
Can you give me some information on how you are integrating this model in your website?
Are you using the iframe feature? In that case did you allow iframe embedding, whitelist your website’s URL, get a new iframe code from the model view page?
Are you using direct embedding? Did you allow direct embedding for the model, get a new ticket and replaced the model view URL with the one of the Rhino 8 system?
Any information about your situation is appreciated.
Yes I succesfully uploaded to the rhino 8 server. shapediver viewer is showing my model.
I did use direct embedding and allowed it for the model to access the embedding code.
and I also think the model view URL is replaced. see image
I tried once more to upload the same definition saved in rhino6 with rhino6 backend system which now works perfectly. unfortunatelly we need the newer features for Download and download options.
At which url are you trying to embed the model? One of the ones I see in the “allowed domains” section in your screenshot? What error message do you get? If you do not get any, does the browser console throw an error? Are you able to share the model and/or a link to the page where you are trying to embed it?
yes, it is the 1x1.systems URL
is this maybe the error?
I can share the model
https://www.shapediver.com/app/m/tandem-shelf-win-5-0-2
not sure if you would have access to it?
or would you want the GH?
Yes, the error you are showing is because you left the model view URL of the Rhino 6 system. You have to change it to the model view URL that is shown in the model view page from your screenshot above (the one that starts with sdr8euc1).
Ok great thank you. I am assuming that this has to be changed at Backend on of my page? or is it a SD setting I can switch?
solved. thank you for your help.
sorry can I open this up again.
we found that we have to update our model viewer to rhino8.
but can you tell me what has changed since April when I was still uploading GH Files created with GH in Rhino8 without any problems?
I would prefer to avoid 2 weeks of construction and Product launch delay on my page.
The issue does not come from which version of Rhino you are using locally to create your definitions; it depends on which ShapeDiver backend system you upload your definitions. It is likely that your were previously uploading to the Rhino 6 servers, and that either you or a previous update we made has switched your default backend system to Rhino 8.
In any case, you are now uploading to the Rhino 8 system, and unless you manually switch it again to a different version of Rhino, you will not have to adapt your website again.
