Turn Off Dimension History

Hello,
Is it possible to turn of dimension history? I’m finding that when I fillet an edge or move a hatch, for instance, my dimension strings will move and connect to something else, I assume attempting to keep connected to what it was dimensioning. Since it doesn’t move correctly, this is causing a lot of work going back to try to spot which ones are messed up, and then having to fix them.

Thank you

Hi Em -

Yes, when you run the History command, you get the RecordAnnotationHistory option that you can set to No.

It’d be interesting to see if this is something that can get fixed. Could you provide a simple 3dm file that shows what you are running into?

Hello,
Thank you for the help!

I attached a file. If, for instance, you trim everything to the right of the black line, you will see one of the dimension lines snaps to a different point. It’s not even a nearby dimension, but possibly is because of the hatch that is being trimmed?

Hi Em -

Thanks for that file!
Yes, it looks like there is something going on with trimming hatches.
I’ve put this issue on the list as RH-69891 History: Trimming hatch breaks dim history
In the meanwhile, if you want to keep history on dimension, avoid snapping to hatches when you create them.
