"tolerance doubled to complete a boolean" pop-up warning

Can someone please explain to me the real world consequence of the Pop-up warning “tolerance had to be doubled to complete boolean”, which I get once in awhile. It seems to print just fine ( converted to .stl). Just trying to understand the reason for the warning, and if it degrades the integrity of the model in any way. Would it be better practice not to go ahead with the boolean after the warning and boolean manually (trim, split etc.)? Thanks

Hi Et_Rec - I do not have an example here to verify, but most likely edge tolerances may be larger than ideal on the Booleaned object - the What command will show you edge tolerances - ideally they are zero.
