Select layers by object selection

Is there any way to select the layers inside layer-panel by selecting objects in viewport (through some keys, value, color or any properties) and after that change the properties of those layers. Specially helpful to work on multiple layouts. command like SelObjLayer can be named.

You can use Select Object Layer from the Hammer pulldown on the layers dialog to select objects layers.

Thanks very much, you solved a very big problem of my current learning. I also find this post for doing same with pythonscript for faster workflow and make alias for the same.

Hello, possibly a stupid question, I am working on a file with many layers and sublayers, so am using the layer tools to select the layer of a selected object quite often. Is there also a command for that, so I can spare a few clicks? [image] thanks for any feedback Andreas
