Rhino 8 MacOS Text does not appear in text field

When I open text in Rhino 8 and the text editor comes up, no text is showing. The text appears only if I click into the field. The video explains the behaviour better than I do.

I believe this is the same as
RH-79555 Button editor starts off blank
