What is the best way to remap this geometry to match the UV (in red) of the colored reference image?
Inherited this geometry from a structural team for a park pavilion. Needing the highlighted iso curves in red to be parallel, okay if this is a trimmed surface. Needing to preform paneling studies on this brep. attached is a rhino model of the orginal brep.
Do you have a photographic example of the kind of pavilion structure? It seems like you might need to project a grid onto the surface, I don’t think the UVs can be remapped to get what you want, I may be wrong.
The UV isocurves of a NURBS surface are inherent to the surface, and in general cannot be moved or modified without changing the surface, You may need to rebuild the surface with the isocruves in the desired orientation. One way to do this would be to contour the current untrimmed surface, and then loft over the contour lines. The new surface may not exactly match the original surface.
