Release Candidate breaks Block Attribute Text

Hi,
I have an issue with the latest version of Rhino Release Candidate.
Blocks with Attribute User Text behave incorrectly - blank value fields fail to show blank text. Fields with only spaces also fail.

Below is how my template behaves with a block of notes (should be blank from note 8 onwards):

If you cannot replicate this, let me know and I’ll share a note block like this one.

Having similar problem both in 8.11 and 8.10.

All my blocks and nested blocks are rendering the with the key name if the block is inserted with blank values for some of the keys. The shouldn’t be showing anythiung at all.

Further, if I try to fix them by changing the values and then deleting the values the other blocks start showing values that were previously entered in a totally different instance of the blocks.

This crap has now got me almost 3 days beyond on way over due files in the field and I"m starting to look like a real idiot at my new job.

Can you upload a file that shows the issue. I can take a look and see what changed.

Looks to be narrowed down to 8.10

Thanks, lets get a YT for this. There were some changes for grasshopper as well as the user text panels that could be linked to the issue.

Yes, I have halted my staff to update 8.9. I can confirm it works fine in that version. This issue appeared in 8.10. Would you still like that sample block?

The fix for RH-83491is in for testing and will be publicly available soon in the daily builds and then the Service Release Candidate (8.11)

@Japhy

Can’t see you track:

It’s been that way for a while, even when you try to log in as guest.

This bug should be fixed in today’s 8.11 release candidate

Thank you Steve,
I will have a look at this tonight or tomorrow. Much appreciated.

Unfortunately block attribute text is still either broken or the functionality suddenly changed. Now they work by block not by block instance. It did break all my model descriptions ;/

How do you bake your attributes?

@suMArch please run SystemInfo in Rhino and paste the results here

Hi @suMArch

The fix for this issue will be part of 8.11 which is currently in release candidate state. You can set your updates to install release candidates by selecting Service Release Candidate from the dropdown in the updates options.

Thank You kindly Travis.
