I was interested to learn programming always. Years ago, I began learning C# partially but left it later. Now, my elephant remembered India again, and the eagerness dominated me to learn Python with the little experience I had working with C# previously.
I know my talent will help me, but the most important thing I need is a potential memory (that I haven’t, sadly LOL ).
I downloaded Python 310 from its excellent website and then installed it on my system.
Well, everything was okay up to this stage.
After I opened python.exe, it appeared in cmd, not python!
I apologize to you . I knew it was not related to Rhino but I didn’t access elsewhere and I had to ask the question from the users of Rhino who work with python.
No need to apologize. Are you planning on working with Python inside Rhino? Rhino installs its own version of Python - currently IronPython 2.7 in V7, although I think they are working on getting Rhino to use CPython 3.x for Version 8.
Yes sir. One of my purposes is to learn python to work with the unique grasshopper of Rhino, which is an exclusive program in the software and engineering world.
But learning a programming language today is necessary for every relative work, and I think python with a lightning future is a good choice, especially since learning python is easier than other languages such as Java, C2#, PHP, and so on.
Dear master, I don’t know which version of python I choose, but based on my research, it is told that V3 is the newest one and is supported by the python corporation, though a part of 2.7 libraries is not usable in the V3.
Now I’m confused about what to do and winch one I choose. I installed V310, but I encountered the problem, and python appears in the cmd case.
I think that is what python.exe is supposed to do.
It opens a command prompt window and runs Python there.
The >>> prompt is the Python prompt.
You only have to type Python command there to see them run.
Maybe you wish to run an IDE ?
I dont’ think I ever used it, but I read that IDLE is the IDE available with CPython.
Don’t know if its included in the Python download for Windows or not … sorry.
I found this on the Web:
I found out my problem. It was the same one you pointed out. I needed an IDE, and when I questioned, I didn’t know python itself solely appears in cmd!
After I researched the internet and read some relative articles I understood my mistake.
Afterward, I chose Thonny from the various IDE, because I heard it is the best for beginners. I downloaded and installed Thonny and now am working with that.
Now, I have focused on learning the initial commands. I know it is a long way until I reach an acceptable level of programming with python, but I have decided to go because I need to learn this language that is used for Rhino, as well.
Many thanks for your guidance
