Planarizing quad panels on double curved surface

designing a starting mesh respecting the intended supports and openings, with higher valence points where it branches:

Which then planarizes nicely, without needing lots of other fairing forces to keep it well shaped, and can even be made conical so it gives a clean torsion free beam layout:
