Would be cool to see added the ability to scan without the use of lidar, like just taking a video of the object like some other apps (Photocatch) work for those with devices without Lidar.
Hi Joshua -
Not for iRhino, but if you are running Rhino on a Apple Silicon Mac, have you tried this:
-wim
Oh I hadn’t seen this, this is very similar to what I meant! Will give it a try, thank you
Unfortunately for me, my Macbook Pro is an antique 2019 with that “other” chip. Nevertheless, I am curious: does this mean ObjectCaptureFromPhotos must take the photos or can the user take a set of photos with any decent camera and transfer them to the Mac for analysis?
You don’t need to be running an M1 or M2 chip to use ObjectCaptureFromPhotos. You take a set of photos and transfer them to the Mac for analysis. Here’s an article from Apple on the process
Hi Steve, I might be misunderstanding here, but that statement looks wrong : the command is explicitly for silicon macs (just tried on my 2017 intel mac after reading this, and the command tells me my mac is not compatible).
I am probably the one who is confused. I just looked at Apple’s documentation and not at what Dan had produced as far as a plug-in. Sorry about that.
