No more animated GIFs?

Hi,

I’ve noticed that animated GIFs don’t seem to auto-play (and loop) anymore?
It used to be, for me at least, that when I opened a thread that contained GIFs, they automatically started to played back.

Has the website policy changed concerning GIFs? Would be a shame, since GIFs were a neat method to explaining processes that were otherwise hard to describe.

Here’s a relevant recent post of mine, where the GIFs only play when maximized (clicked on):

Any ideas?

They play automatically for me. (Chrome)

They’re not autoplaying for me either, on Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 using Chrome Version 86.0.4240.198 (Official Build) (64-bit). They autoplay on my iPhone 8 though, running the standard browser.
