Minor / Specialization in Digital Fabrication

During the last 20 years, there has been a great interest in incorporating computational technologies in design and architecture. Today, Rhino and Grasshopper, laser machines, CNC routers, 3D printers, etc. are part of the most important and necessary tools for generative models (data driven) that are achieved with imagination, originality and creativity.

Minor / Specialization in Digital Fabrication is for students and teachers with creative backgrounds: designers, architects, artists, engineers, and other professionals of associated fields. The Digital Fabrication Program involves introductory as well as advanced courses in 3D digital modeling with Rhino, generative and data driven modeling with Grasshopper, physical computation and interaction, as well as hands-on manual fabrication. An assignment process is developed where students and teachers get matched together to promote growth. Teachers acquire skills that students want and at the same time, students develop critical thinking, discipline, and self-confidence to develop their portfolios. By completing this program, the participant will earn either a Minor (students) or a Specialization (teachers) in Digital Fabrication.

It’s a 400+ Credit Hour Course!
