Lasso, not possible to use for sub-selection - feature request

The Lasso command is very useful for picking non-regular objects … What is more irregular than a point-cloud?

But it is impossible to use the Lasso command to pick irregular shapes inside a point cloud without exploding it …

Would it be possible to somehow enable Lasso also for selecting sub-objects? Like using Lasso while holding down Ctrl-Shift-Alt?

Would be great for editing point-clouds without exploding them (50 M + point clouds work fine, but not exploded …)

If you check SubObjects in the selection filter, Lasso will work to select inside a point cloud.
