Is there a way to split containers vertically/horizontally

Is there a way to split toolbars vertically or horizontally when dragging tabs from one container on to another? When I try it on some panels blue boxes appear indicating that the panel will be split but with containers it seems you can only have more tabs?

would be amazing to have a container split up nicely with all my favourite modelling tools there

I sometimes really miss the freedom of V4 toolbars. You can adjust both height and width of the buttons and divide things anywhere you want.
