Iray for rhino

HI All, I am getting used to Iray for Rhino, and just had a quick question. I cannot seem to work out how to un-assign materials to objects. I know I can exchange, but I would like to start with a clean slate on one of my projects that already has a bunch of materials left over from using another render engine. Is there anyone here who is familliar with iray who can make a suggestion.

Save as and “geometry only” should kill all plugin data.

Yes, but that’s pretty radical as it will also remove all layer, color, group information from the file as well… You might try _-SaveAs (with dash) and set the command line options to _SaveTextures=_No _SavePlugInData=_No…
