Insertion of VA GH Style for Furniture & Element

Plane can be insertion base for GH style for annotation.
I tired to use plane for furniture and element as well, but it looks like only point can be insertion base for them. How can I place furniture & element created through GH style on construction plane?
Thanks.

Hello @archist97,

Yes, planes can be used for insertion of Furnitures and Elements. Here is an example of how to use it.

Insertion plane.3dm (2.5 MB)
Insertion plane.gh (7.4 KB)

Thanks. Alfonso.

Actually, I’ve already tried to use xy, yz, xz plane for insertion plane like you, but it doesn’t work as expected. For instance, when I tried to insert element named “Man” included in VA template, I can insert it one section cut plane right away as following view.

VA Object & Construction Plane

If I use xy, yz, xz planes, I can’t do that. I can’t with your definition, either. I think the reason is because only point is available in element or furniture GH Styles. However, both point and plane are available in annotation.

Did I misunderstand something?

Thanks.

I have come to the same conclusion - that only Annotation style works with planes as inputs.

@archist97 @Toni_Osterlund Yes, only Annotation objects support planes as the insert option.
We will make this feature available for Furniture and Element objects in future versions, probably in VisualARQ 3.

@archist97 @Toni_Osterlund we have finally implemented this feature in VisualARQ 2.13: VisualARQ 2 - Version 2.13 released
