Importing STL or STEP file directly into grasshopper

Hi

Is there a way of importing the above file formats directly into Grasshopper. At the moment I am using a grasshopper script to import the file(s) into a particular layer in the Rhino environment. I then use the Dynamic Geometry Pipeline from the Human component to feed it into grasshopper. Works most of the time but I would rather not have stray stl files in the rhino environment and have everything within the grasshopper environment.

Hi William -

You can use the Import 3DM component to import any file format that is supported by Rhino.

Just found a C script written by Laurent Delrieu. Works with binary and Ascii. Many thanks Laurent. Brilliant work.
