The files available via http://files.mcneel.com/yak/tools/latest/yak.exe’ are outdated.
I would like to create a correct plugin in my CI environment, where no Rhino installation is available. The yak bundle from the mentioned link does not support plugin code for net8.0-runtime. Hence I have a serious problem with this situation.
Please upgrade the “latest” link asap.
The “latest” link is not being updated. I thought it safer to move to versioned links so that scripts can be pinned to a static version of the tool that will never change. The most up-to-date version of the Yak CLI tool can be downloaded from the links published on the Dev Docs website!
The current version of the tool is v0.19.1 which requires .NET 10. If you need a version that runs on .NET 8 then use v0.15.1, e.g. https://files.mcneel.com/yak/tools/0.15.1/win-x64/yak.exe
Sorry for the confusion. I’ll try to make the deprecation of the “latest” link more clear.
Thank you Will.
Download from https://files.mcneel.com/yak/tools/0.15.1/win-x64/yak.exe works well for my purpose (same version like provided by my local Rhino installation).
What do you mean by the “Dev Docs website”? On the mentioned Rhino - Yak Command Line Tool Reference link I only find version 13.0.0. But in the english version Rhino - Yak Command Line Tool Reference there are available version 0.19.1 and 0.15.1. This is really confusing.
I think you can fix this to enjoy other developers too.
Kind regards, Roland
Thanks for the heads up! I’m sorry for the confusion. I’ll make sure the translations of this page are all up to date.
I’ve also replaced the original “latest” download with a deprecation notice that will hopefully guide others to the versioned download links.
“Dev Docs” (Developer Documentation) refers to the https://developer.rhino3d.com site that I linked to.
I’m glad the v0.15.1 download is working for you!
