How to go from Solidworks file, to uploading .gh file in ShapeDiver

Hi guys,

I am a web designer just getting into 3D VR and AR. I believe ShapeDiver.com is what I need to build a successful 3D Configurator for my client. However, I know it says read documentation and videos, but nothing has showed me how, or why I need grasshopper? I have a Solidworks 3D model that just needs to be able to have parts added and removed, and some materials changed by the configurator. And be able to add the measure model feature. No stretching needed or anything too complex.

Can you please show me a simple video showing a Solidworks file being uploaded into ShapeDiver, and adding simple controls? I need to atleast have something to show my clients ShapeDiver platform is what we need.I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi Lowell. ShapeDiver is an online platform for Grasshopper files. Currently, no other file formats can be uploaded to our system. You’ll need to recreate your Solidworks 3D model with Rhinocero3D and Grasshopper if you want to use ShapeDiver.
