This gumball doesn’t reset to the center:

The sphere was created by snapping to the center of the curve, and then to a point on the curve.

I created a sphere, moved the gumball and reset with no issues in the latest. What version of Rhino are you running? (systemInfo please)
In your file it is correct as well, the gumball returns to the centroid.
Not in here with Align to Object.
No problem in V6.
Got it, rotate sphere - align to object - reset. I’ll post the youtrack shortly. Thanks for reporting.
