I’m a jewelry designer and new to Rhino/Grasshopper I’m working on a new style and am looking for someone to create a gh file based on a AI photo of my ring design.
Hasn’t a tool been released recently that produces a 3D model from 2D pictures (just not necessarily in .3dm format)? By Adobe?
I tried a site called 3dAI Studios. $16 a month. Uploaded the image and after a few minutes, it produced this.
Wow, it even figured out the parts in the photo that were blurred.
Can jewellers actually make a bubbled effect like that without machining every inclusion individually? It looks like honeycomb after bicarb is thrown into molten sugar.
Yes, it’s possible to get all of that texture. I use the lost-wax process with a twist. I create my designs in Rhino/Grasshopper and print them in 3D with castable resin. It’s a wax-based resin that burns off completely. The details that it can reproduce is sometimes astonishing. I surprise myself sometimes.
