Footwear in Rhino

Hello everyone,

I am new to designing footwear with Rhino and would like to ask if you could help me understand what would be the best possible solution to create a footwear sole that resembles the shape of the one in the image example.

Would grasshopper be helpful or what other command do you think could help me build something like that?

I think Grasshopper is pretty much unavoidable if you are looking for complex things like this - and you need to look into more complex plugins in Grasshopper as well - on the top of my head, maybe you can look into cocoon or Pufferfish?
