Folder not holding

when exporting dxf to a certain folder it does not hold the folder so you have to choose the folder every export to …export

nobody ? it is really anoying if you have to export 10 or more dxf s or whatever , as every export you have to choose the folder again and again … and again and again

I understand it is not that importand issue , but in 8 it works ok why not in 9 ? anybody with this slight anoying issue ?

Yes. There are multiple workarounds.

why a workaround ? in 8 it just works as in any other program , in 9 not..

I have not compared how it works but in general I find it annoying having to navigate to the right folder when exporting geometry. I’m using a modified @Helvetosaur script in Rhino and user attributes in some situations where I want specific paths for certain objects. Grasshopper also makes exporting to specific paths easier when there are a lot of different paths or objects.

Furthermore I think it is a general question which folder Rhino should remember. There are pros and cons no matter which option. Always remember last exported folder or always go to file folder or do you always want to export into a specified child folder of your file directory?

well as in 8 i just expert to a certain folder , and most of the time i need export 10 or 20 files , it is annoying to find every export the folder again klik on it and export , while in 8 i export 1 file to a certain folder every following export exports to that folder like in any windows program , i do not need grashopper for this it should just work no workaround needed just work as before and in all previuos versions of rhino

So you export manually 20 times in a row?

Since @martinsiegrist pinged me -

I don’t understand the problem here, my WIP remembers and exports to the last used folder. So after choosing the folder the first time, it exports to the same folder thereafter until you change folders. You are experiencing something different on your end?

yes we do it exports to the folder where the main rhino file is located , , you can make a new folder and export to that , next export will be in the main folder where the rhino file is located , not the export folder

depend 1 to… what is needed , we need seperate dxf files

It’s not doing that here. How are you launching the export command? Typing at the command line, right click on the Save toolbar button, something else?

just export selected ,from file dropdown and we then use dxf does not matter what file type

As I said, it is working here…

not with me , btw on both computers i use rhino no keeping memory of the folder

is there a setting .. maybe …?

there must be something wrong , else it would work ..right ?

Post your SystemInfo result.
Are you using any plugin?
Try to run Rhino in safe mode and see if that behave differently.

rhino 9 does not start from the taskbar on my laptop , it starts from the taskbar on my pc without problem, rhino 9 runs when going to a rhino file and opening , read all above it runs in safe mode ok
