Extrude curve along line doesn't do both ways

Hi,
V5.
What option to extrude curve (green) along line (blue)
it says pick line near start, I pick bottom of line and it makes surface from green line upwards.

I change dir but makes no difference.

perhaps do second surface heading south, it wont.

Why not move green line to the blue end, then extrude full length?—- Mark

Here that is an option though this item is doing my head in. I know the profile is at the green, thinks I move it elsewhere is it valid to item I sectioned where the profile was.
(sections for a face, average of sections, generate straight line etc)
I like to use my sections where they are.
However there might be occasions where the orientation is correct of green, but it doesnt sit at the end of the line, it may be further into the object.
this is a pig of a shape.

moving profiles is a bit scary , .

Click at the top of the line and the result is

“Select path near start” means select the path near the end where you want to begin moving, which may not be the end closest to the curve to extrude.

Sorry, on a tablet right now, but this patch layout should help. Just a few lines (red) for the primary surfaces, then the purple ones for the secondary surfaces, and then you can fillet (blue are the fillet contact lines).
