Error in import OSM component

Hi @Brian_Washburn,

thanks for your lovely work on Heron!
I have been looking for a GIS tool that runs on Mac and Win, and it is a great collection of components.

Running into some issues though, I wonder if you have an idea:

I have installed the latest 0.4.3 beta on Rhino 7 Win, and the import OSM component is throwing an exception:

it does not always happen, but the larger I set the boundary (usually more that 100x100m) the more likely the import OSM will fail. The OSM file is downloading fine.

My guess is that the import component is encountering data it cannot handle??

.gh file attached!

cheers,
Daniel

Hi @dk2079 ,
Glad you find Heron useful!

The ImportOSM component seems to be stumbling on some the building:part elements in the OSM file. I will look into this further, but for now, you can choose the non-building:part fields you want with the filterFields input.

A complete list of the available fields is here:

Thanks for letting me know of this bug.

Thanks Brian!

Glad it’s possible to work around that issue and that I could hand you a bug

Cheers,
Daniel
