Entire model disappeared after editing block

ctrl+z then before you exit the block editor, copy the block and lock everything else. exit the block editor, when your block disappears paste it back and select replace. Unlock the rest. Locked objects should not disappear.

I just encountered this issue again, but on Windows. Before it occurred, the command BlockEditApplyInPlaceEditItemChanges was triggered. Tried all the above, unable to recover.

To add on, everything in layouts is also gone, the only things left are lights and some text on a no print layer. File size is still the same; I saved a copy of the file.

Hi Brian -
Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.
Can you post the file?

The file is too big so here is a download link. I hope this issue gets fixed, I had this same problem a long time back with R6, and the worse part is that it is not like crash, it completely wipes the entire file, so you’re banking on any previous file saves.

Hi there, I just had the same issue without any possible backup. Any help?

Hey team,
I had this problem on NOT a mac, and I found a pretty good solution! If you go into the block manager the hidden items show up and you can export the block you were working on to its own file! Saved me a lot of time!

For the past few months it happened to me few times. Firstly I thought it was my sort of mistake. But today, it happened again:

When I work with blockedit command and exit the block, whole model disappear except the block. I mean when I undo some steps back, only the object related to the last edited block are in the file. Rest of it is gone.
The size of the file apears to be the same. But when I tried to save it as a copy, The size shrinks to a few kB.

I am convinced that this problem is related to Block manager or Block edit command. And this is pretty scary to loos whole work!

Please, have a look on what is going on with this.
