Electric Heating Iron 2: Nitro Zeus

Made a second electric heating iron with more interior details so it looks like it has function, made entirely with nurbs and its a cross between Russel Hobbs and Tefal product which have a more aggressive type of design, Im calling this one Nitro Zeus.

this one was quite enjoyable to make every now and then the improvements since V5 shine through making this software very fun to work with

Next project I will have to go to the second hand store and pick electronics that I can unscrew so that I can take it a bit further with the interior modelling.

Have you disassembled an iron in the process? If not, what is your research workflow looks like to find great materials?

I did a small research on what parts goes inside a heating iron then tried modelling it so it “looks” like a real one but none of it really makes any sense

Unfortunately my family would kill me if unscrewed our heating iron😅 but I have the chance to touch and look at it

I also searched on Amazon and tried to merge unique looking heating irons so there is 2 design elements I took here, first is the shape of the base plate and second the body layout for example the cutouts and cord position etc …

Material wise it depends on what looks interesting to me I use the basic ones found on the renderer and micro tweak almost everything the cloudy plastic was the most challenging one but so many other factors are at play here for it to look nice like lights and camera etc… I have my own standard process for it
