Curve Profile Matching to another curve

Hi, new here.

I am trying to model a french inspired leg for a piece of furniture. It requires me to create a couple of simple curves within a 3D space, however I need them to match a curve profile for each viewpoint.

I know I can project a curve to a surface, but can I do the same with a curve, i.e. project curve to curve?
