Creating Straps that Vary in 2 Dimensions

I am trying to model straps going over plate boundaries. When the plates are planar, it’s easy.

When joint varies over on dimension, I can use FLOW

However, I have a large number that meet at angles (one side flat, the other side stepped as above).

I was wondering if there is a good approach for making straps that cover corners in this kind of situation.

make a dummy surface that represents the location of where you want the strap to flow then use flow like you would in other situations. The difference is you will flow to the dummy surface, then delete it leaving it placed on your model at the location of your preference.
