i m busy ideating an articulating mechanism for the top of a table to lift up and over some things housed under the table top. i want to know if theres a way to lock certain objects to one another in order to be able to see if the mechanism will work or not, in order to make sure the clearences work and the mechanism works.
i’d also like to animate the scene for render with twinmotion, i cant afford bongo so thats not an option, does anyone have any other ways they do it?
Hi @Matthew_O_Connor
If Bongo is not an option, there’s basically just Grasshopper. It can be a bit daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can do all sorts of stuff with animations by animating sliders - see attached kitchen door hinge.
If you can’t afford Bongo and are not into Grasshopper yet, you could go outside Rhino and take a look at David Rector’s excellent and free Linkage program (Google it, examples on YouTube).
Use that to get the bones right, then use Rhino for production drawings.
