Can't open files while connected to the internet

I’m having with Rhino 7 (and v6 as well) since returning to the office again this week…. I’m no longer able to open files and Rhino is getting stuck on “Not Responding” for over an hour.

I’ve been working remotely from home for the last few months and have had no issues opening files from either the VPN connection or locally from my desktop, so the issue seems to be related to moving back to the office (and reconnecting to the office network).

Some notes:

  1. Our licenses are hosted on the Zoo.
  2. I’ve tried loading a file from our server and from my desktop – result is the same (won’t open).
  3. To remove one of the variables, I’ve downloaded a local file so that download times aren’t an issue… when I try to open that file while connected to the server/internet, it won’t open. As soon as I remove the ethernet cable, the file opens as expected (less than a minute).
  4. Smaller files (~10MB or so) seem to open OK sometimes, so the file size is playing a part.

Based on this, it seems that the issue must be related to licensing or something else that Rhino looks for online… perhaps Rhino is looking for a license and not finding one, or is getting blocked etc.?

Our IT guy informs me that there’s nothing that should be blocking Rhino on our end, so I’m hoping you might have some suggestions that could help diagnose the issue? Thanks in advance!

Hi Adam -

As a first step, could you please post the outcome of the Rhino SystemInfo command on both Rhino 6 and Rhino 7?
