Add Detail Line not working

Hallo All,

I am wondering if someone know why the add line component on Rhino Inside Revit
doesn’t work on some computer setup (my other comp works), I already update my RiR but no luck,

error message (1. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.)

thank you

Hi Indra,

detail lines work only in certain views in Revit. Where are you trying to add it?

Hi Ruta,

i am using RiR on Family File, and using active view also doesn’t work, the thing is I am running the same script on my other computer (home computer) and it works, I wonder if this has something to do with something that I need to to update (IE, my .Net?)

as a background, I created a Profile generator for my Vertical Structure (Section Wall) using the Sweep method, it’s a pity that it works well on my home comp, but not on my office setup

Hi Santosa,

this is is a .NET error. Cool that you said that it doesn’t work on your office PC and it works at home.

Here you have a proof that it is a .NET error.

apparently updating the .net isn’t working also

Try isolating the edges with a List Item component, there may be something going on with the geometry.

Hallo Japhy,

I also tried this. i have no luck :smiling_face_with_tear:

Hi Indra, Can you post your About info and I will try and replicate. Thanks

Hallo Japhy,

thanks for your reply,

attached Requested About Info,

I have also attached my script for your convenience
(I have an idea to make a workflow that allowed me to draw a principal section in Rhino and transform it into Vertical Wall Sweep in Revit) I hope RiR will have a component to make a profile family and construct a wall using a profile I the future,

thx !

Hi @Indra_Santosa,

This is fixed on v1.17, but keep in mind that not all family documents allow you to create Detail Lines.

Hallo @kike ,

I installed the new update, but also had no luck,

Could you share an screenshot of the red balloon message?
Is it the same as before?

It would help if you share the rfa file of the family were you are trying to create a detail line.

hallo @kike,

yes, unfortunately, it’s the same error,

Attached .rfa and .rft

This is the RFA
Family1.rfa (380 KB)

The RFA Comes from this family template (I zipped it since it’s not possible to upload .rft?)
Metric Profile.zip (351.3 KB)

Apart from this issue, may I know if there are other ways to create a Profile in RiR, I tried to use the Create Family component but apparently there is no Profile in the category section, or is there another component that I can use to transfer my rhino/grasshopper line to a .rfa file?

I have tried in a profile family and was getting same error using the current public release… so for the meantime you can try the below component to add curves to the profile family keeping in mind it doesn’t allow object tracking.

RiR_Profile Family Add Curves.gh (10.3 KB)

@Indra_Santosa,

Please update again to the latest v1.17, we had a problem with the deployment system and it didn’t serve you the latest.
