I am wondering if someone know why the add line component on Rhino Inside Revit
doesn’t work on some computer setup (my other comp works), I already update my RiR but no luck,
error message (1. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.)
i am using RiR on Family File, and using active view also doesn’t work, the thing is I am running the same script on my other computer (home computer) and it works, I wonder if this has something to do with something that I need to to update (IE, my .Net?)
as a background, I created a Profile generator for my Vertical Structure (Section Wall) using the Sweep method, it’s a pity that it works well on my home comp, but not on my office setup
I have also attached my script for your convenience
(I have an idea to make a workflow that allowed me to draw a principal section in Rhino and transform it into Vertical Wall Sweep in Revit) I hope RiR will have a component to make a profile family and construct a wall using a profile I the future,
The RFA Comes from this family template (I zipped it since it’s not possible to upload .rft?) Metric Profile.zip (351.3 KB)
Apart from this issue, may I know if there are other ways to create a Profile in RiR, I tried to use the Create Family component but apparently there is no Profile in the category section, or is there another component that I can use to transfer my rhino/grasshopper line to a .rfa file?
I have tried in a profile family and was getting same error using the current public release… so for the meantime you can try the below component to add curves to the profile family keeping in mind it doesn’t allow object tracking.
