3D preview pdf format in Rhino

Hello, is there a way to make 3D preview (able to move polysurfaces, view rotate) PDF format ?

I don’t find the option for this, I can only export the rhino file into Solidwork for the PDF and it takes nearly more than an hours to do.

It is for the clients to preview the 3d, they have edrawing software only

Hi VinPo -

Rhino doesn’t have that option out-of-the-box but there are plug-ins that you can purchase that can do this.

Why don’t you send them a *.dxf?

Some client doesn’t have solidwork or edrawings but rely on PDF to check the 3D, they can check every part inside PDF and give feedback to us. The company I work for mainly use sw, but I am the exception ( Rhino). My workmates use Solidwork to export PDF, but I have to find my own way to export PDF efficiently.

I’ve used SimLab 3D PDF exporter when I started using Rhino 14 years ago because I missed 3D PDF coming from Solidworks…

I’ve had to explain every client that they need to open the 3D PDF with an Adobe Reader and not with some other default app or browser.

I think 3D PDF is obsolete and we have much better options with online viewers.

VinPo,

You want to use PDF to give your customer a file to review that they cannot use it directly for some kind of manufacturing … is that correct?

If that is the only reason, you could use a different mesh format exported from Rhino to supply a file for review.

Then point them to an online viewer as Martin suggests.

I wish I can do this, but I am the only one to use Rhino in the company, other workmates are solidworks. They would think that Rhino guys does’t fit them and cannot do these and that… the 3D PDF is the formal way that runs perfectly between us and client for years. So I have to figure out my way to export the 3D PDF from Rhino otherwise there will be no more Rhino users to survive in the company. I will purchase the plugin and try then. Thanks
