Hi,
I’m from Greater Boston area and build guitars and play music. I have a woodshop which includes a CNC router with 24x35 inch capacity and a CNC Sherline mill, with a Sherline CNC lathe in the making. My education includes a BS in Computer Science, a certificate in furnituremaking from North Bennet St. School, with skills in AutoCAD drafting, architectural millwork, CNC machining on vertical mill, period furniture making, window and door millwork, manual machining, electronics (tube amps), and home (our home) handyman jobs.
I’m new to Rhino, and have limited experience with Fusion 360 and FreeCAD. I’ve been doing quite a bit with 2-1/2D CAD/CAM but want to start using more surface modeling and machining. Rhino will be used to help me accomplish the tasks of creating and editing 3D models which can be ported to a CAM program for posting G codes for my machines. I’d love to hear from other instrument makers and builders about Rhino workflows and such, specifically NURBS modeling. Sky, I know you are out there and I keep going back to your highly comprehensive videos
