I’m trying to incorporate a wireless space mouse into my work but an issue keeps occurring in which zooming into an object the progress will stop or slowdown to the point of being stopped. More simply, I can’t zoom in to a desired point. I had to change the zoom ratio from 0.95 to 0.97 to accommodate a Logitec mouse but I’m not sure it’s relevance to the 3D device.
The problem then occurs with the mouse as well! Then for no apparent reason the zoom will work again but becomes so sensitive it’s useless! I’ve yet to enjoy working with the upgrade I just bought last week.
This is really frustrating.
I’m running Mohave - 10.14.6 / 64G ram on an iMac.

I recall you reporting other issues with mice and space mice in the past too and I can see you already know about Zoom factor scale which is useful for controlling the speed of a scroll wheel on a mouse. What you described though sounds like the zoom target just needs to be reset to focus on what you want to zoom in on. Can you select the object, type ZS and Enter to zoom in on it and then get the view you need?
If that doesn’t help, I’d suggest updating the drivers for the mouse and/or 3D mouse from those manufacturers and also updating your macOS version. If that still doesn’t help, upload a 3dm file that shows the issue along with a screen recording of the process and I’ll take a look.
