I have a customer who has upgraded their windows server from 2008 to 2012 and the Zoo has stopped working for them.
They’ve upgraded the system, they didn’t do a clean install.
The service is always stopped and running the Zoo program puts it in a “not responding” loop (as he described).
they’ve checked that port 80 is open with NETSH and it is.
I’ve asked him to check the Event viewer and this is what he came up with:
I’ve also asked him to run the Zoo Diagnostics tool and this is the result:
They have .net framework 4.5 installed.
Help would be much appreciated…
It looks like the ZooPort and Zoo Echo test failed.
The instructions for the Zoo Diagnostic Utility describe what to do when the test fail.
It sounds like your customer did not follow them.
Here’s a the link to the page: http://wiki.mcneel.com/zoo/zoo5diagnostics
It’s probably something else on port:80 and they haven’t created a firewall rule yet.
From the first screen shot, it looks like the Zoo service is not started. This could be due to missing .NET components or some other service is posted up on Port 80.
The Zoo requires the FULL .NET Framework 4, not just the client profile.
They said they did a workaround, I asked for details but didn’t get them yet, I’ll let you know.
at least it works for them.
by the way, the customer is The Israel Museum, a very nice place to visit if you ever come here
