I am trying to make a Y branch because I am redisigning a mesh, the question I have is, can I create a Y branch with personalized curves? Because at the moment all I have is a Y branch with multipipe/fattener but the curves are automathically a circle, and I need the top and the bottom of the branches to be with my input curves since this is for a 3d printed structure. As you can see in my pictures I can do the branch but not with my original geometry, I am using a line and the component (fattener) creates a radius of those lines.
Not very clear to me what you want to achieve exactly, but gave it a try.
FYI:
You used plugins, not everybody has those plugins loaded, or is willing to install them. So for questions here: Better no plugins, and if necessary mention them in your text.
For creating surfaces around curves, there are several usefull tools, Ruled Surface is just one of them.
I flipped one of the curves to get them correctly lined up.
Curious to know how this will proceed. Regards, Eef
I tried your solution and it works great with custom curves, which is exactly what I needed. Really appreciate it!
Just a small note: I did mention the Fattener plugin in my post and also attached the .gha file, so it should be available for anyone following the thread. Anyway, best and thank you!
Hello Elizabeth, Glad I could help. As for the fatttener plugin, I did not know it existed.
PS: Attaching the .gh and .3dm file is not enough to use the plugin for just editing 1 file. It has to be installed (and if not wanted for later use, be uninstalled again).
