Steps to recreate:
Draw 3 objects and place each on a different layer.
When selecting an object it show which layer it’s on in the bottom, this is great.
Now when I immediately select a different object on a different layer, it shows the current active layer instead of the layer of the object I just selected.
This continues showing me the wrong layer until I first deselect everything and then select an object again.
Rhino 6.25 & WIP 7.0.20140
Rhino 5.14 doesn’t have this.

Hello - I cannot so far reproduce this here. Does this happen in any file? If not, please post an example.
-Pascal
Yes, happens in any file. Here’s a video showing me doing these steps. (Unfortunately apparently my screen recorder doesn’t seem to want to capture the bottom toolbar showing the behaviour, but I just want to make sure you’re doing the same as I’m doing):

I think I am doing exactly what you are - can you post the output from Rhino’s SystemInfo
command?

Yes, I see the same as siemen when “Turn on control points when selecting a curve, light or annotation” is on.
Wow, nice one! I would have never found out it’s that specific setting that causes this.

@pascal , do you manage to repeat this by activating the setting @cadmaster pointed to?
