Worksession create hundreds of unexpected material files

I used to worksession my separate site model into my working model, and everything was going very well in Rhino 7.
After I updated to Rhino 8, if I open the site model directly, it would create a folder for embeded materials, it is normal. but when I tried to worksession the site model into my working model, it would create all the materials under the folder of the working model without any sub-folder. and it’s happened everytime when I open the worksession. My site model is super huge with hundreds of materials, which makes this problem super terrible.
Is it some setting issue or just a bug of Rhino8? since the same model with version7 is all normal.
thanks a lot if there’s any suggestion.

Thanks Lea, I’ll take a look.

Can you run SystemInfo in the Rhino command and post the results?

A test of adding a worksession is generating the material folder as expected. Are there any other steps i need to repeat? What am i missing? Thanks

Hi Japhy,
thanks for your reply.
here attached the SystemInfo for you reference.
system info from rhino.txt (2.6 KB)

I have also tried to worksession my site model into a new empty model file, and the same problem repeated. but my other rhino models are all working normally when I worksession them into each other. So I think it should be the problem of this specific site model. Maybe because it was converted from map GIS data?
I have also upload this site model in the following wetransfer link just in case you want to check it.

thanks again

Textures went into a folder as expected.

A couple items of note from your SystemInfo.

  • 8.4.24044.15001
  • NVIDIA RTX A2000 8GB Laptop GPU (NVidia) Memory: 8GB, Driver date: 11-26-2022
  • C:\Program Files\Enscape\Enscape.Rhino.Plugin-net48\Enscape.Rhino8.Plugin.dll “Enscape.Rhino8.Plugin” 0.0.24138.1238

Please update to the latest Rhino https://www.rhino3d.com/download/rhino-for-windows/8/latest/

Check the Nvidia site for a video driver update Download The Latest Official NVIDIA Drivers

The enscape looks to be the .netframework version, you are running in .Net 7. Disabling the plugin or running in .netframework would be a good test

thanks for your test Japhy.
IT department pushed a update to version 8.10.24228 and the problem solved.

thanks a lot.
