We’re working on a big project and have thus split the file in aprox. 12 area files.
I have recently came to the conclusion that Rhino crashes every single time, when i try to render a Rhino-worksession file in which i have detached and attached different files.
Workflow goes like this:
I load and save a RWS file. I open it, do some adjustments, in the mean time other people worked on other parts of the projects and created new files or versions of existing files in the RWS. I detach old versions and attach new ones.I press render -> Rhino crashes.
I use Vray for rendering.
Anyone encountered similar problems? Is this a known bug?
Also on this topic, it would be great if there would be anything like a “replace” command in the worksession manager.
I have replicated the above, tried rendering with rhino and besides having an inhumane render time compared to Vray rendering times, it did indeed not crash.
Is this something i should report to chaosgroup or does Rhino play a role in it.
Since the crash happens when you use a program that is not by McNeel, you need to get in touch with chaosgroup. Their developers can always get in touch with McNeel if they find out that they need to.
Ok, i have some news. I got in touch with Vray support and they could not mange to reproduce the error.
Since i knew what type of geometries i use in the files which were crashing i was able to send them test files. They successfully reproduced the error and are currently looking for a solution.
At the moment it seems to be related to sepparate block instances sharing the same names within different files.
For example block01 created and embedded in file Test1 and block01 created and embedded in file Test02.
