I think this wishlist item may be difficult to implement, but it could add a lot of functionality for these often overlooked object properties, such as curve piping, edge softening, etc. Maybe a simple checkbox in the display properties could disable these effects in “Shaded” mode while keeping them visible in “Rendered.”..
