I think having a symbol object can be really helpful in adding annotation capabilities that do not interact with model scale, and instead always appear a fixed pixel size. Symbols exist in grasshopper but there’s no way to bake them -
It seems like the capability in Rhino is already there since Annotation Dots exists which is pretty much all the Symbol functionality.

Thank you. The current Grasshopper Symbol list is a good place to start. We mainly use the Cross, Pin, Arrow and Tag symbols. It would be nice if we were able to upload our own symbols as well in SVG.
Also the reason that Grasshopper Symbols do not currently suffice is that they also do not show up in a Vector Print out and force us to take Raster Prints.
Note that regular annotation dots can use any font including Symbol, Webdings/Wingdings etc… so it is already possible to make dots with ‘symbols’ in a certain fashion…
I can’t see a live preview of the font in Rhino 7. No matter which font I choose, it’s always the same in the text field of the Rhino dots.
